    Hello,
    I hear alot about video capture cards. Do I really need one? The computer I plan on buying has firewire ports, is this suffiscient? Thanks for any help.

    firewire is sufficient for editing DV, assuming you have DV playback device.

    if you want to preview on a TV or capture analogue signals then firewire ports won't do this alone.
